Nabeel Beg, MD

Nabeel Beg has been a leader in shaping hospitalist programs with strong roots in the Illinois-Wisconsin area. He graduated in medicine from the University of Illinois, Chicago (2002). He then completed his residency at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois (2005). Demonstrating leadership throughout his residency, Dr. Beg won accolades including the Program Director’s Award and the Chairman’s Letter of Commendation.

Dr. Beg has been a practicing hospitalist for 12 years, starting with the Advocate Health Centers in Illinois (2005-2006) and then moving to ProHealth Care in Wisconsin (2006 – present) for the majority of his practice. His leadership roles in the ProHealth Care program are across multiple levels, initially as a Vice Chair in the Department where he focused on quality of care. After this role, he became the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program, a position he has held for the past seven years. This position entails responsibility for the management and functioning of a system-wide hospitalist program across three sites. He has managed over 18 physicians and 5 allied health professionals, while leading recruitment, education and evaluation. Additionally, Dr. Beg has coordinated and developed policies, procedures and protocols, including the implementation of a new electronic medical system.

While serving patients and managing physicians at ProHealth Care, Dr. Beg was driven to deliver personalized and quality patient care. Based on this experience, he started ProHospitalist because he determined that the best care is achieved when the managing physicians and healthcare professionals are independent, satisfied and motivated.

Dr. Beg lives in Waukesha with his wife and three children. At leisure he loves to pursue photography, videography and learning about world history.

 

Ashwin Uttam, DO, MPH

Ashwin Uttam grew up in the Midwest with a passion to practice evidence-based, personalized patient care. He completed his Undergraduate and Masters Degree in Epidemiology from The Ohio State University. During this period he worked on cancer genetics research, publishing multiple papers.

Dr. Uttam’ s interest to deliver personalized and holistic care led him to graduate as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University (2008). His residency was completed in Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, where he was the Chief Resident (2011).

Since his residency, Dr. Uttam has been practicing in South-East Wisconsin at the ProHealth Hospital Systems (2011 – present). While working here he founded ProHospitalist to deliver evidence-based, personalized care in the region through like-minded Healthcare Professionals who would like to drive their career.

Dr. Uttam lives in Pleasant Prairie with his wife, son and two rescue dogs. He is an avid long-distance runner and enjoys wood-working and gardening during leisure.

 

 

Abdul-Bari Syed, DO

Abdul-Bari Syed has lived in the Midwest and has been a dedicated hospitalist in the Wisconsin area since 2010. He graduated from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Iowa in 2007 and completed his residency at the University of Illinois – Advocate Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Illinois (2010), where he was awarded “Intern of the year.” Since then he has practiced as a Hospitalist physician at the ProHealth Care Hospital System in Waukesha and Oconomowoc.

Dr. Syed is licensed to practice medicine in Wisconsin and Illinois. His commitment to deliver quality care has led him to proactively engage within the hospital across Emergency Department, Internal Medicine Chart Reviews and Medical Education committees. He also participates in a Multi-disciplinary Hospital Trauma Committee at Waukesha and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital. This dedication, to deliver quality care, led him to establish ProHospitalist.

Currently, Dr. Syed resides in Franklin, Wisconsin with his four children. He enjoys playing sports, traveling, nature and spending time with his family.
